Job Description

Requirements

  • Assist the Head Teacher/Director with the implementation of instruction of the children with an age-appropriate curriculum based on individual progress and goals set for each group
  • Create positive and productive relationships and communications between yourself, other staff, parents, and children.

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all children in your care.
  • Create a warm, inviting and organized environment for both children and parents
  • Be alert and aware of the needs of the children within the classroom

  • Attend a minimum of 18 hours of approved professional development annually Must continue education in pursuit of at least a CDA or attain 6 credits in ECE in a related field within 6 months of employment
  • Help to complete progress reports in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and at least 1+ years of relevant work experience with children.
  • Experience in childcare preferred
  • Must be Pediatric CPR certified or achieve certification within the first 6 months of employment
  • Physical ability required: Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds,
  • Must be able to stand for extended period of time Must be able to get down at the children’s level and get up unassisted
  • Must be able to react quickly to the needs of the children and classroom
  • Must be able to both see and hear the children in the classroom at all times
  • Must be proficient in both reading and writing
  • Good verbal and written communication with parents, children and other members of the team

Prerequisites:

  • Must obtain health assessment and TB test (negative result) before employment and continue to keep both current and up to date per Chapter 3270 of PA Code, Title 55.
  • Must complete appropriate clearances (per Chapter 3270 of PA Code, Title 55.) before start of employment and returned to employer before the 30th calendar day after start date.

 

Case Manager - SOAR

Job Summary

Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and monitoring the Case Plans of individuals in the SOAR (Skills, Opportunity, Achievement, Responsibility) Re-entry Program. The incumbent duties require close coordination, collaboration, tracking and monitoring of participants to ensure compliance with their service plans. Responsibilities also include working closely with partner agencies to ensure program participants are engaged and supported in services that include employment/training, educational attainment, and other supportive services.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Service a caseload of 25-30 active participants, all of which will be justice involved young adults.
  • Provide individual case management sessions with all clients at regularly scheduled intervals.
  • Conducts initial screening to determine the level of service and support needed.
  • Develop individual case plans for all clients that identify barriers to successful reentry.
  • Document all client contact and progress, including time and date, type of contact, outcome and plan of action.
  • Provide or broker services to holistically address clients’ needs.
  • Provide regular updates to the Program Manager.
  • Attends program and agency related meetings and conferences.
  • Works closely with the program funder in the collection of data, report writing and follow-up.
  • Others duties as assigned.

  • Additional Requirements:
  • 2-3 years experience in delivering case management services
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse educational and cultural backgrounds, from ex-offenders to public officials
  • Knowledge of criminal justice system and/or experience with ex-offenders is preferred.
  • Ability to travel within city and surrounding communities. Select national travel also possible.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW), Psychology, Counseling, Criminology or a relate social/behavioral science field.
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) provides distinct advantage

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and regulatory standards. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect and manage data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion

Program Manager - SOAR

Employment Specialist - SOAR

You come to OIC with at least 2 years of experience in workforce development, recruitment, or sales/account management in which you needed to meet quotas on a regular basis. You are passionate about making an impact in the lives of young adults and guiding them to achieving their career goals through a balance of accountability with empathy. You enjoy networking and cultivating lasting relationships with people and businesses, helping them understand how our work can benefit them. You have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust to particular personalities and interaction styles on the spot. You’re resilient and don’t give up, anticipating and addressing challenges along the way while keeping your eye on the end goal. You’re comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines despite opposition or setbacks. You’re able to look at a set of data or market research and use it to guide your practice. You have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work or a related field and demonstrate fluency in Spanish (not required, but preferred).

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Key responsibilities of the employment specialist include but are not limited to:

Business Strategy and Analysis

  • Developing and implementing a strategic plan for job placement services with a strong focus on young adults ages 18-25 that ensures OIC meets its participant placement metrics
  • Evaluating labor market data to determine employer demand and usage of OIC services and determining improvements and ways to leverage relationships with employers to meet OIC’s placement metrics
  • Achieving weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual job placement goals in accordance with OIC’s contractual obligations

Relationship Cultivation and Maintenance

  • Serving as the face of OIC to prospective employers
  • Researching, conducting outreach to, and building relationships with prospective employers willing to hire OIC program participants, particularly young adults, and who have hiring needs that match the skills, experience, and interests of our overall participant cohort
  • Maintaining relationships with existing employer partners
  • Scheduling and conducting daily prospecting, cold calls, and face-to-face meetings
  • Serving as the liaison among employers, participants, and our criminal justice partners

 

Job Placement

  • Matching program participants with employment opportunities, taking into consideration each participant’s skills, work experience, interests, and goals and aspirations
  • Customizing participants’ resumes to fit identified opportunities

Administrative Support

  • Documenting all participant and employer contact, activities, and outcomes in our case management system (Salesforce)
  • Performing other job-related duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time
